"Barbie" Snubbed At Oscars

Barbie' Review: On the Road and Out of the Box - The New York Times

Pink carpet rolled, diamonds gleaming bright
Barbie and Ken, a picture perfect night
Critics cheered, the box office soared
Awards buzz, like bubbles poured

Golden statues, dreams within my reach
Best Picture whispers, out of every peach
Greta's vision, Margot's spark divine
This plastic girl, ready to shine

But then the noms, the cold hard slap
No Director nod, no Best Actress tap
The music stops, the lights grow dim
Is this the end of Plasticine's whim?

Headlines scream, "Snubbed!" and "Shock!" and "Shame!"
Fans in uproar, calling out the game
A plastic heart, misunderstood
Is Hollywood not open to the good?

Maybe pink's too bright, too bold to see
The story's depth, the artistry
But under bubbles, dreams take flight
And Barbie proves, she's more than just a sight

But then the noms, the cold hard slap
No Director nod, no Best Actress tap
The music stops, the lights grow dim
Is this the end of Plasticine's whim?

Don't need a statue, to define my worth
My plastic world, with dreams of purest earth
I'll build my own awards, with glitter glue
And share my magic, me and you

'Cause even snubbed, the song goes on
No golden girl, but dreams still dawn
Pink's the future, bright and bold
My story told, in hearts of gold

So chin up, girls, let's rewrite the scene
No Oscar needed, to be a plastic queen
We'll rise above, with dreams of pink and blue
And show the world, what Barbie girls can do
